November Profile - Jack Jordan

By R.J. Carter

Born 1/17/28 as John Jordan, Jack grew up in the mean streets of South Los Angeles not far from the famed All American Bar. There, he lived and rode his uncles 1928 JD until joining the Military in 1945. Jack first hooked up with the rest of the “Original Wild Ones” immediately after returning home from his military service in 1947. By mid 1948 Jack was already a valued member of the Sharks Motorcycle Club which, like the Boozefighters, were also founded inside the All American Bar two years later. Due to complications with the A.M.A. at that time many of the original Boozefighter’s were also members of the Sharks M.C. with several of the B.F.M.C. members competing in area races wearing their Sharks patch instead of the Boozefighter Bottle. Jack’s best friends back in those days were nun other than originals Jim Cameron and Jim Hunter with Jim Cameron eventually moving into Jacks parents house. Jack moved from L.A. to Placerville, California in 1964 where to this day he still tends bar at the world famous biker bar Poor Reds in the tiny gold rush burg of El-Dorado. Weather it be a field meet, a run to Big Bear or just hanging out, Jack was a constant fixture around the B.F.M.C. Finally becoming a member of the Sacramento/El-Dorado Co. Boozefighters earlier this year. When Jacks not riding the tires off his new 2004 FXDI, he’s busy being a highly respected brother and go-to guy when one of us has a problem with our scooter. Also to our benefit, Jack, now at a spry 77 years old, was younger than the rest of the guys back then and is still perfectly able to remember those golden years in vast detail, making him more than an valuable link to our historic past but a important bridge to a brighter future.
